Single Vision Sports

Precision from every angle - with Digital-Ray-Path® Technology

How can you achieve optimal vision at every single point on the lens? Non-optimised lenses have restrictions for the wearer on the periphery, i.e. on the outer edge of the lens. In addition, the image deteriorates as soon as you look through a lens at an angle, as conventional lenses are not optimised for the wearer at every point.

Digital-Ray-Path® Technology simulates how our gaze moves on the basis of the frame shape and individual parameters and adapts every point of the lens to the wearing situation.

Progressive Sports

Fully individualised progressive sportsl design. Based on individual parameters and base curve using Digital-Ray-Path® Technology every visual angle gets optimised with perfectly matching as worn powers.

Additionally a thinning technology gets applied. For high powers when leaving the field of vision and reaching a transition thickness, the thinning technique flattens the lens to its edges.

The minimum fitting height is 16mm. A matching progression length will be automatically chosen.

Diameters, Decentration, Power Ranges

Since we already have the frame saved there is no need to select a diameter, oval shape or decentration by yourselves. We will automatically do that for any order being placed.

The limitation for the native diameters is simply the blank. All Charmant blanks are being stocked in olycarbonate and a diameter 78mm. So that is the limit. Anyways there is an automatic decentration of up to 10mm possible, which results in a maximum size of 78/98mm.

What limits power ranges is simply the combination of curve and max diameter. For obvious reasons the limitations of normal single vision and progressive designs without thinning technology are quite narrow especially when it comes to a combination of high diameter/decentration, high minus powers and high base curves. Sports designs making use of thinning technology come along with much better options.
We totally understand the demand for directly showing what is possible and what is not. Being confronted with the combination of diameters, decentration, base curves and different curves unfortunately would lead to an endless table, which noone would be able to follow.

As a rule of thumb you may keep in mind that main meridians of -5,00 to +5,00 will never be a problem for sports designs also in high curves. For high powers you may just place the order and get a promt feedback on feasibility.

Base Colors & Coatings

You may apply any coating to any lens color. Anyway especially when deciding for a mirror please keep in mind that the mirror may have a slightly different appearance on a different base color. For getting a quick preview please make use of the Charmant demo tool. Please also keep in mind that the tint is always included in the blank. So a mirror backside AR Coating will approximately increase absorption by around 5 %.
